updates

Since last time, I have been revising my literature review. It feels a little more like my research after I added my research questions and more metadiscourse.

I have a copy of Rereading America at home, which I'll grab when I go back home to California. I also have a copies of different textbooks (that Alex and I used for our presentation) and I think I'll look over their Table of Contents to compare and contrast. Or would it be better if I skimmed through the whole book? [I feel like my project is getting bigger and bigger!]

For the last essay of ENG 111, I'm having the students evaluate children's picture books that have a multicultural theme. I'm going to prepare a survey for them, asking about what they expect from a composition textbook, how theirs fit their expectations, and then asking implicitly if they would prefer textbooks with more multicultural topics. [Would I need to fill out an HSRB form for this?]

I'm also going to talk to Donna Nelson-Beene about the textbook selection process this week. I don't think I would ask her about multicultural topics because it's going to be my recommendation.
